Lory Nox

Triestino, born 1983 – Photographer
Lory Nox turned to photography as a child, fascinated by summer trips across Italy and Europe that allowed him to observe the variety of light and landscapes. In 2009, he embarked on a professional path that led him to explore landscape and portrait photography, with a visual language based on the harmony between nature, emotion, and suspended time.
From 2012 to 2015, he collaborated with a youth filmmakers' association, producing two photographic services for the Municipality of Trieste. In the following years, he expanded his experience working in the congress and corporate events sector, while continuing to cultivate his personal research.
Today, he works in the field of alternative events and participates in documentary, short film, and feature film projects, with a keen eye for visual storytelling and the evocative power of the image. In parallel, he also produces black-and-white film photography, favoring a contemplative and artisanal approach.
His works are inspired by the poetic vision of Michael Kenna, Fan Ho, and Kenro Izu, but find their own identity in the search for light as an emotional element and in the ability to transform reality into visual storytelling.

Artistic Vision – Lory Nox
Light, tranquility, introspection
Lory Nox explores the hidden essence of reality through black-and-white photography, transforming light into language and silence into storytelling. Each image becomes a meditation on presence and absence, a suspended threshold between the visible and the inner self.
Visual language
Lory Nox's photographs are visual poems of light and shadow: contrast becomes rhythm, depth becomes breath. Through a measured use of chiaroscuro and composition, the artist evokes mental landscapes where time seems to stand still, and the gaze becomes intimate, contemplative.
Themes
- Light and shadow – balance between vision and mystery
- Nature and solitude – open spaces that speak to the soul
- Memory and silence – time as an emotional trace
- Figure and absence – what remains when everything dissolves
Critical summary
Lory Nox transforms reality into visual emotion. His photography does not document: it evokes. Each shot is a fragment of suspended silence, where black and white become the breath of the soul.
“The body was nothing but a garment. They do not cling to the shell that has caused them suffering more than the prisoner clings to his chains. The memory of those who are dear to them is the only thing they value.”
