Description of the artwork
In Metaphysical Piano, Ivan Cagnani transforms reality into a chromatic explosion where music seems to become visible matter. The artwork breaks away from traditional figuration to embrace a vibrant abstraction, dominated by bold contrasts between the saturated fuchsia of the sky and the turquoise depths that envelop the structure of the instrument.
The composition revolves around the stylized silhouette of a piano, whose bright red lines emerge like rhythmic pulsations from the textured background. On the left, a luminous, sketched figure seems to merge with the instrument: it is not merely a performer, but the embodiment of inspiration itself, captured in a moment of creative ecstasy. The face turned upwards suggests a connection with a higher dimension, transforming the act of playing into a secular prayer or a metaphysical dialogue.
The application of color, which recalls the fluidity of watercolor combined with digital precision, creates a dynamic texture that simulates the reverberation of sound waves in space. The transition from the acidic green tones in the foreground to the warm central reds guides the eye on an emotional journey: from the realm of technique to the fervor of passion.
The artwork explores the concept of synesthesia: the ability to "see" sound and "hear" color. Metaphysical Piano does not represent an object, but the invisible energy that arises from the encounter between man and art, making the abstraction of melody tangible through an almost electric light.
The artwork is created on an aluminum support: a rigid, flat, and durable surface that enhances the brilliance and depth of the colors. It is the ideal choice for abstract art, contemporary photography, and modern spaces seeking a bold and iconic piece.
