Description of the artwork

In What is Simple and Light, Ivano Petrucci captures the essence of a moment of pure human connection through a dynamic and deeply textured pictorial language. At the center of the composition, two figures merge in an embrace or a swirling movement that evokes, indeed, the lightness of a carousel. The shape of the bodies is not defined by rigid lines, but emerges powerfully from a dance of color-laden brushstrokes that seem to expand outward.

The artist uses a vibrant palette, where the contrast between bright reds, electric blues, and brilliant yellows creates an almost tangible kinetic energy. This chromatic vortex surrounds the figures, acting as a visual manifestation of emotion: a warmth that envelops the moment and makes it eternal. The white of the background is not a void, but a space of light that enhances the vibrancy of the central subject, giving the artwork a sense of suspension and freedom.

The artwork explores the theme of simplicity in deep feelings. The mixed technique allows for layering that reflects the complexity of the human soul, while maintaining a visual harmony that inspires joy. The partially outlined black figure stabilizes the composition, offering a visual anchor in the midst of the whirlwind of colors.
