Description of the artwork
In Chimera, the artist creates a scene immersed in an atmosphere of overwhelming chromatic energy, where the boundary between the human form and pure abstraction dissolves in a vortex of color and movement. The dynamic, centrifugal composition is dominated by a figure enveloped in luminous spirals that merge with the surrounding space, symbolizing transformation and an identity in a state of continuous becoming.
The subject is not merely a physical presence but an emanation of the spirit. The color palette, ranging from fiery reds and sunny yellows to deep blues and vibrant turquoises, suggests an inner tension: the conflict between the instinctive force of matter and the aspiration toward a higher dimension of being. In this space suspended between the real and the imaginary, the figure contorts and opens up, like a mythological being that defies all definition.
Broad, fluid brushstrokes intertwine with denser, more textured passages, creating a visual rhythm that alternates between momentum and balance. The artwork explores the concept of metamorphosis and multiplicity: the figure simultaneously reveals and conceals itself, inviting the viewer to search for a center that is constantly shifting. Like the chimera of Greek mythology, the individual is a synthesis of opposing forces—rational and instinctive, earthly and celestial, visible and unspeakable. Color does not describe but embodies this complexity, transforming the canvas into a field of living energies.
