Description of the work

In Stolen Heart, Giorgio De Camillis captures a moment of intense drama, in which the boundary between reality and gothic vision dissolves in the shadows. A female figure wrapped in a red dress emerges from the raw stone like a presence both fragile and powerful.

With one hand outstretched toward the wall and the other clutching a human heart, the composition evokes sacrifice, consuming passion, and the wound of existence. The heart, offered or torn away, becomes a metaphor for a total, painful, and inevitable surrender.

The image reflects on vulnerability, the loss of self, and the regenerative power of desire. The light and the red of the dress give shape to a suspended story, in which beauty is born from the darkness.
