Description of the artwork
“That swan alights on the pond, motionless and tired it watches me, and I imagine a world of peace, the awakening of consciences. A throne of power that drowns and lets the wave of serenity slip away.”
In Women of yesterday, today, tomorrow, Baldo Ingrassia represents the female face as a symbol of time. The profile, traced with an essential and continuous line, does not belong to a specific person but to a collective memory.
The figure emerges from a natural landscape made of trees, water, and light, elements that evoke growth, roots, and transformation. The green and blue hues suggest the continuity of life, while the floral presences introduce the idea of rebirth.
The past, the present, and the future coexist in the same image. The woman becomes a guardian of memory and possibility, a point of union between tradition and change, in a timeless vision capable of crossing different generations.
