Title: Duality of Silence
Type: fine art photography
Year: contemporary
Description of the work
In Duality of Silence, Giorgio De Camillis creates a rarefied scene in which the boundary between identity and reflection fades in a deep, dark space. Two mirrored faces frame a central flash of light, an image of inner division and a truth emerging from the darkness.
A feather covers one eye and a stone seals the lips. These elements suggest the transition from conscious blindness to the inability to communicate the weight of one's experiences. The symmetry makes visible the conflict between what we show and what we keep hidden.
The cool tones and sharp light contrast with the delicacy of the feather and the hardness of the stone. Silence does not appear as emptiness, but as a veil that protects the intimacy of thought and transforms the isolation of the senses into introspection.
