Description of the artwork

In Elogio al vero – Riflesso n.8, Ivano Petrucci celebrates the vitality of the human being through an explosion of abstract gestures that envelops and defines the central figure. The artwork captures a moment of exultation or profound inner liberation, where the body seems to emerge directly from a whirlwind of paint and light.

The composition is characterized by a dynamic tension: the figure's outstretched arms extend toward the edges of the canvas, blending with vibrant brushstrokes of red, blue, and yellow. These chromatic accents are not merely decorative, but represent the outward projection of emotions, a “reflection” of the inner truth that manifests in the surrounding space. The bright white background accentuates the force of the action, transforming the canvas into an energetic field where the boundary between the subject and the world becomes fluid and indistinct.

The artwork explores the concept of authenticity: the truth of being is revealed in this chromatic dance, where the rigor of mixed media meets the impetuosity of instinct. The light seems to emanate from within the figure itself, lending the artwork a psychological depth that invites the viewer to recognize their own essence in the figure's liberating gesture.
