Description of the artwork
In this artwork, Baldo Ingrassia leaves behind the depths of the night to embrace a zenithal, almost transparent luminosity. The composition is dominated by the sinuous, minimalist profile of a female figure, rendered with a dark, essential line that outlines her elegance without weighing it down.
Beside the figure, a long-necked jar symbolically evokes the concept of a container: for water, for life, or for held-back emotions. The visual dialogue then shifts toward the natural element: a delicate flower in the woman's hands and a small flock of butterflies that seem to emerge from an aura of light. These elements are not mere decorations, but symbols of a metamorphosis in progress and a rediscovered harmony with the surrounding world.
The artwork addresses the theme of purity and rebirth. If in previous canvases the confrontation was with shadow, here the individual manifests in their clearest and most linear essence. It is an invitation to simplicity, to the contemplation of fragile beauty, and to the awareness that every gesture — such as holding a flower — is an act of deep connection with the universe.
