Description of the work
In Geometrie dell'Anima, Giorgio De Camillis uses the female nude as a starting point for an exploration of identity and perception. A geometric grid traverses the composition and creates a dialogue between the organic fluidity of the body and the rigor of mathematical structure.
The curve of the figure and the straight line do not conflict, but complement each other. The grid fragments and recomposes the subject in simultaneous perspectives, inviting the viewer to look beyond the surface. The work thus reflects on the complexity of human identity, suspended between matter and spirit, instinct and reason, chaos and order.
