Description of the work

In I segreti, Claudio Giulianelli constructs a scene immersed in a rarefied atmosphere, where the boundary between theatrical play and the dreamlike dimension vanishes in the clarity of an infinite horizon. The composition is dominated by a slender female figure with a sculptural headpiece, whose hands, like those of a skilled puppeteer, seem to weave invisible threads that connect the different souls of the painting.

The landscape is not just a physical place, but a state of the soul. The chromatic gradation, which shifts from the intense yellow of the base towards a vibrant cerulean blue, suggests a transition: the passage from the concreteness of the stage to the lightness of the dream. In this suspended scenario, small emblematic figures — a seated soldier and a standing Pulcinella — represent the facets of the human experience, suspended between duty and the mask.

The warm tones of the purple garment contrast with the clarity of the sky, creating a visual tension that invites introspection.
