Type: certified artist reproduction
Year: contemporary
Description of the artwork
In Il Peccato Originale, Stefano D'Acunto creates an intense allegory inspired by biblical symbolism. Fruit and leaves are arranged on a red cloth with deep folds; in the center, a bitten apple becomes the sign of an irreversible choice.
A snake winds its way into the composition, and the grazing light highlights its scales as well as the shine of the fruit. The shadow of a hand evokes human presence and imminent desire. The still life thus becomes a reflection on temptation, free will, and the loss of innocence.
