In Il Pensiero Leggero, a solitary tree with bare branches appears to support a cloud in the sky. The image plays with perception and gravity: what is heavy becomes light, what is rooted touches the sky.
It is a metaphor for imagination as a bridge between earth and infinity, between the concrete and the possible. The landscape becomes a mirror of the inner self, a threshold between the visible and the invisible.
