Description of the artwork
In L’incontro, Baldo Ingrassia creates a scene suspended between reality and memory. Two figures face each other within an imaginary space that takes the shape of a face: architecture, landscape, and inner identity coincide.
The house becomes a mind, a place of memories and lived experiences. The two presences are not merely characters, but symbols: they represent the dialogue between past and present, between who we have been and who we are becoming.
The bright blue tones of the sky contrast with the black silhouettes, creating a visual tension that suggests introspection. The red figure introduces the emotional element: it is memory, affection, or the deepest part of identity returning.
The artwork addresses the theme of personal identity: the most important encounter is not between two people, but between the individual and themselves.
