Photographer: Giorgio De Camillis
Title: The Inner Eye
Type: fine art photography
Year: contemporary
Description of the work
In The Inner Eye, Giorgio De Camillis creates a composition of great symbolic power, in which the human body is transformed into a portal to self-knowledge. A female nude seen from the back becomes the axis of a vision: a wide-open eye, positioned between the shoulder blades, seems to gaze into infinity.
The scene is immersed in a warm and deep darkness, pierced by a golden light emanating from the center of the image. This light suggests the awakening of a perception capable of going beyond the senses and reaching an inner dimension.
The eye is not an external organ, but a mirror of the soul. It guards the intimacy of thought and makes visible the connection between body, consciousness, and the sacred.
