Description of the artwork
In L’Orizzonte Interiore, Baldo Ingrassia presents a dreamlike vision where the human figure and primordial nature merge into a single psychological breath. A female silhouette, outlined with an essential golden stroke, lies in a pose of contemplative surrender, immersed in a whirlwind of chromatic matter.
The artwork is dominated by a magnetic contrast: the darkness of the background serves as a frame for a central opening, a luminous rift that reveals a seascape at sunset. This "eye" of light, with its turquoise and pink tones, represents the core of the inner vision, a safe haven toward which the thoughts of the soul tend.
The textured and gestural brushstrokes surrounding the figure evoke natural elements such as clouds, rocks, or sea waves, but above all act as emotional projections. The bright reds and vibrant greens create a dynamism that envelops the stillness of the golden figure, suggesting the constant dialogue between the quietude of the spirit and the chaos of lived experience.
The artwork addresses the theme of connection with the infinite: the figure is not a mere observer of the landscape, but an integral part of it. Ingrassia suggests that the beauty of the external world is nothing more than a reflection of the depth and light we hold within ourselves.
