Description of the artwork
In The Miner's Dream, Stefano D'Acunto presents an image suspended between the harshness of work and the purity of childhood. A child, wrapped in oversized work clothes, clutches a piece of coal as if it were a precious treasure.
The grazing light illuminates the face and the texture of the sweater, while the surroundings fade into darkness. A candle in the background introduces a sign of hope; the work objects evoke the passage between generations. Coal thus becomes a symbol of dignity and an inner wealth capable of shining in the dark.
