Description of the artwork
In Metamorfosi ieri domani, Baldo Ingrassia constructs a symbolic narrative in which time and memory intertwine. The composition is organized in different planes: fragments of landscape, evocative objects and linear marks coexist within a deep black space that acts as a mental dimension.
Geometric shapes frame visions of nature and chromatic horizons, suggesting transitions between reality and memory. The golden elements, resembling icons or traces, introduce references to everyday life and travel: a house, objects, the sea and the boat. The movement from bottom to top guides the eye like a narrative path.
The artwork reflects on the relationship between past and future. “Yesterday” appears as memory, while “tomorrow” appears as possibility. The metamorphosis in the title indicates the continuous change of identity: the individual goes through experiences and places that remain imprinted in consciousness.
Painting thus becomes an existential map, an inner journey rather than a geographical one.
