Description of the artwork
In L’Amore di Chiara, Claudio Giulianelli entrusts a female figure with a reserved and luminous bearing with the task of safeguarding that which is not spoken but felt: love as a silent presence, as a care that asks for nothing in return. The figure — wrapped in the carmine red dress that runs through the entire series — holds something precious and fragile in her arms, with the gesture of one who knows that certain things are carried, not shown.
Chiara’s face is turned slightly to the side, her gaze absorbed in a direction the viewer cannot follow: a thought, a memory, a distant person. The branched pointed headpiece — in warm shades of red and gold — stands out against the blue sky with the solemnity of a secular halo, transforming the figure into a contemporary icon of affection.
The open background — the golden field, the sky crossed by luminous clouds — breathes around the figure without compressing it, allowing the emotion to stretch into the space like an echo.
