Description of the work
In Linea di Passaggio, Mavet captures a fragment of urban everyday life, transforming it into an almost cinematic vision. The train stopped at the station becomes the focal point of the composition, a solid and luminous presence that stands out along the track like a threshold between movement and waiting. The metallic surfaces reflect the artificial light of the environment, while the chromatic stylization transforms the scene into a visual landscape charged with energy.
The elongated perspective guides the eye along the platform, creating a dynamic line that suggests departure, transit, and possibility. The human figures in the background appear as light, almost anonymous silhouettes: not specific individuals but symbols of the collective journey, of the continuous urban migration that characterizes contemporary life. In this work, the train is not just a means of transport, but a metaphor for time: each station represents a pause in the flow of life, a point suspended between before and after. The observer finds themselves ideally on the platform, invited to decide whether to stay still or board their own journey.
