Description of the artwork

In Struggle Among Clouds, Baldo Ingrassia depicts a suspended space between the sky and the imagination. The artwork unfolds in an aerial dimension where clouds, currents, and stylized figures intertwine in continuous motion. The luminous background, characterized by warm and cool color transitions, creates an unreal, almost dreamlike atmosphere.

Dynamic brushstrokes create swirls and trajectories that suggest energy and tension. Within this space appear small, essential human figures, reduced to mere marks: they are not realistic characters but symbols of the human presence within natural and inner forces. The elongated, fluid forms evoke creatures, air currents, or thoughts in motion.

The “struggle” in the title is not physical but existential: it represents the confrontation between emotion and rationality, between control and surrender. The sky becomes a metaphor for the mind and its transformations.
The artwork addresses the theme of change and the continuous balance between chaos and harmony.
