Description of the artwork

In Geografie del Pensiero, Baldo Ingrassia explores the fragmented and vibrant nature of human consciousness. The artwork is dominated by a stylized silhouette evoking a profile, within which explodes a chromatic storm: passionate reds, energetic yellows, and deep blues blend into a textured surface that suggests the complexity of mental processes.

The face is not a boundary, but a container of universes. The geometric elements and golden graphic marks orbiting the figure—small flowers, ancestral symbols, and kinetic lines—represent the external stimuli and ideas that fertilize the mind, transforming into lived experience.

The sharp contrast between the darkness of the background and the vibrancy of the silhouette's contents creates a dynamic tension: it is the transition from the darkness of the unknown to the light of awareness. The base of the artwork, evoking a mountainous profile or a terrestrial horizon, anchors the figure to the plane of reality, while the mind rises toward abstraction.

The artwork addresses the theme of inner evolution: the mind is never static, but is an ever-expanding ecosystem, where every color and every mark represents a new nuance of our identity.
