Photographer: Giorgio De Camillis
Title: Reflected Nature (Genesis)
Type: fine art photography
Year: contemporary
Description of the work
In Reflected Nature (Genesis), Giorgio De Camillis creates a surreal and metaphysical scene in which the boundary between the organic and inorganic dissolves into a suspended geometric composition. A constellation of polished spheres unites deep blue with warm, rust-colored oxidations.
The spheres float in a rarefied space and reflect a horizon that evokes the fusion of sky and sea. In the foreground appears a reclining female nude, whose curves interact with the surface of the sphere to the point of appearing to be the generative principle held within the material.
The image reflects on the origin of beauty and the bond between human beings and nature. The repetition of forms creates a cosmic order, while the figure introduces vulnerability and life, suggesting a meditation on genesis and the perception of reality.
