Description of the artwork

In this artwork, Baldo Ingrassia places a stylized human figure at the center of the composition, whose crossed arms suggest an attitude of waiting, protection, or firm introspection. The silhouette, defined by warm amber tones, emerges forcefully from a dark and tormented background.

The visual contrast is stark: around the central figure explode flashes of white, red, and orange, resembling flames or clouds charged with energy that tear through the darkness. In the lower part, textured brushstrokes of blue and ochre create an unstable base, almost a stormy horizon above which the individual tries to maintain their balance. A dashed yellow line, positioned as a symbolic horizon, suggests a direction to follow or a boundary to overcome.

The artwork addresses the theme of inner strength: it is not the total absence of conflict, but the ability to remain whole while the world around changes and becomes agitated. The artist transforms color into pure emotion, telling the universal challenge of man in finding his own light when everything else seems to fade into the shadows.
