Description of the artwork
In Piante di pianeti, Baldo Ingrassia creates an image suspended between botany and the cosmos. The plant elements transform into celestial bodies: the flower heads become planets, while the branches take on the role of connections between earth and the universe.
The deep black background suggests an infinite, non-terrestrial space, in which nature grows like vital energy. The bright colors — yellows, greens, and oranges — emerge from the darkness, creating a strong visual contrast and an almost nocturnal perception, like a blooming in space.
The artwork addresses the theme of continuity between microcosm and macrocosm: that which is small and natural reflects that which is immense and cosmic. The growth of the plant becomes a metaphor for evolution, while the floral planets suggest that life and the universe share the same origin.
