“Mosaico di storie” is an armchair refurbished by Roberta Serafini for Arte4R by Micol Art Gallery. A shaped, gold-colored frame decorated with floral motifs and scrolls meets a patchwork upholstery that combines squares, thin lines, small geometric designs, and abstract patterns.
A mosaic of textures
The backrest and seat create a dialogue between black, cream, brown, blue, and light accents. Irregularly shaped inserts and visible stitching make the textile composition easy to read. The armrest pads also feature the abstract-patterned fabric, creating continuity with the seat.
The curved legs, shaped armrests, and raised details of the frame accompany the contrast between a traditional form and a contemporary reinterpretation. A decorative piece to imagine in a living room, a study, or a reading nook.
Stylistic inspiration and historical notes
The flowing lines of the structure, the curved legs, and the floral motifs evoke the Rococo repertoire and Louis XV style, which developed in 18th-century France and was revisited in numerous subsequent productions. The armchair recalls this ornamental language without allowing, from photographs alone, a dating or attribution of manufacture. The gold-colored finish does not certify gold leaf gilding; the period, origin, and finishing technique are not documented.
Regeneration according to Arte4R
Recovery, Restoration, Regeneration, and Reuse: Roberta Serafini’s approach enhances existing furnishings through new expressive combinations. The two photographs show the final result, in a full view and in a detail of the backrest and seat. They do not document a before and after.
