Description of the work

In Barcola, Lory Nox captures the open expanse of the Adriatic Sea with a contemplative gaze. The surface of the water stretches towards the horizon in a play of light and reflections that black and white transforms into a composition of great formal purity. The image evokes the seaside tradition of Trieste's Barcola, a meeting place between the city and the sea.

The work belongs to Lory Nox's photographic research on the Trieste area: the sea as a space of freedom, memory, and contemplation.
