Description of the artwork
In this artwork, Baldo Ingrassia continues his journey of chromatic and formal subtraction, offering a vision of extreme serenity and harmony. On a light and delicate background, evoking morning light or a mental space free from clutter, stands the fluid silhouette of a seated female figure.
The profile, outlined with an elegant dark line, expresses a posture of surrender and reflection. Beside the figure, a stylized plant with small golden fruits recalls the fertility of the earth and thought, while a single butterfly, rich in chromatic details, approaches the woman like a messenger of transformation and ephemeral beauty.
The artwork addresses the theme of contemplation. While the works on black backgrounds explored the deep unconscious, here the artist celebrates the awareness of the present moment. The figure has no face because it represents every human being at the moment they rediscover their inner peace, in a silent and perfect dialogue with nature. It is an invitation to rediscover one's essence through silence and the simplicity of natural gestures.
