Description of the artwork

In Ruota d'Energie, Ivano Petrucci abandons all figurative references to immerse himself in the beating heart of pure abstraction: a chromatic vortex that does not represent energy, but is it. The canvas becomes a field of forces, an arena where colors collide, attract each other, and merge in a perpetual motion that has neither beginning nor end — only the luminous, white, and silent center, from which everything radiates and to which everything returns.

The composition is structured like a rotating cosmic wheel: broad and decisive brushstrokes unfold from the central source toward the periphery of the canvas, following a centrifugal trajectory that draws the eye in an unstoppable movement. Solar yellow, fiery red, vibrant magenta, deep turquoise, and twilight purple alternate with a logic that is not rational but visceral — the same logic with which emotions follow one another over the course of an intense day.

There is no human figure, and yet the human presence is everywhere: in the urgency of the painterly gesture, in the temperature of the colors, in the unstable balance between chaos and harmony. The white center is not empty — it is the moment before the explosion, the pause between one heartbeat and the next, the zero point from which every energy takes shape. Energy is not something that is possessed or accumulated, but something that is passed through: Petrucci captures the physicality of this passage on canvas — the heat, the speed, the vertigo of being alive in a constantly transforming universe.
