Description of the work

In Sentimento, Giorgio De Camillis creates a rarefied scene in which the tangible world and the dreamlike dimension meet in a granular and iridescent glow. The partial face emerges from an intertwining of dry leaves and paper textures, images of cyclicality, transformation, and organic memory.

The color palette transitions from the earthy tones of the foliage to a luminous spectrum of purple, light blue, and dotted ochre. A single eye observes the viewer, while the organic matter dissolves into a fragmented digital thought.

The contrast between the roughness of the leaves and the luminous texture creates a tension between closeness and distance. The texture becomes a veil that protects the subject's intimacy and invites the viewer to search for what remains hidden.
