Description of the work

In Winter Sentinels, Aldo Palin depicts a row of pruned mulberry trees in a snowy rural landscape. The trees repeat in perspective like silent columns, guardians of time and rural memory. The snow unifies the landscape in a palette of whites and grays, while the dark silhouettes of the trees create a hypnotic visual rhythm. It is an image of silent resistance: what remains when everything else stops.

The work belongs to Aldo Palin's photographic research on landscape as a mirror of human interiority: real places transformed by light and atmosphere into thresholds between the visible and the invisible.
