Description of the artwork
«Like an evergreen shrub and perhaps a master of life, the blue quenches my thirst, and when time stops, my SELF will finally become.»
In Visioni Celesti, Baldo Ingrassia composes a mosaic of dreamlike fragments suspended in an ocean of teal and deep blue. Symbolic figures and hinted landscapes emerge from textured golden brushstrokes, like memories surfacing from the unconscious.
In the center, an ethereal and stylized figure sits atop a cerulean cloud, evoking peace and spiritual anticipation. Around it appear suspended narrative elements: a house immersed in light suggests an inner refuge, while a small silhouette gazes into infinity, emphasizing the individual's contemplative solitude in the universe.
The golden patches contrast with the fluidity of the background and create a tension between what is defined and what remains vague. The artwork explores the fragmented nature of experience, inviting the viewer to connect multiple islands of meaning.
