Description of the work

In Classic Visions, Giorgio De Camillis brings ancient statuary and the contemporary human figure into dialogue. Black and white enhances forms, volumes, and contrasts: the marble of the sculpture and the living presence of the photographic subject meet in a scene suspended in time.

The continuity between the ancient and the modern becomes the heart of the work. Classical beauty is not confined to the past but continues to speak to the present.
