Description of the artwork

In this artwork, Baldo Ingrassia creates a dreamlike stage where the boundaries between the domestic interior and the infinite exterior dissolve. The scene is dominated by a majestic crystal chandelier that serves as a visual focal point, illuminating not only the physical space but also the layers of thought.

The artwork is a play of mirrors and thresholds: a golden arch on the right frames the passage into another dimension, while a slightly open door suggests an invitation into the unknown. The figures present are fragmented, almost spectral: a female silhouette on the left seems to emerge from a bluish haze, evoking a sense of fragility and ethereal beauty, contrasted with a dark shadow inhabiting the center of the composition.

The artwork explores the theme of the complexity of the human psyche, where the "seen" and the "felt" merge into a single, evocative vision. The contrast between the deep darkness of the background and the vibrant brushstrokes of the vase of flowers in the foreground creates a dynamic between the stillness of memory and the vitality of the present.
