Description of the artwork

In this composition, Baldo Ingrassia continues his exploration of symbolic abstraction, creating a universe where time seems to have stood still. Against an intense black background, representing the unknown or the unconscious, float fragments of reality "cut out" from another dimension.

The artist uses irregular geometries as open windows onto vivid, chromatically dense landscapes: bursts of fiery skies and lush meadows contrast with the surrounding darkness. The golden elements—the stylized tree, the falling leaves, and the small rural village—introduce a note of preciousness and nostalgia, elevating the everyday to a mythical dimension.

The artwork is an invitation to recompose the pieces of one's own life. Each fragment is a memory, each golden shape a root that binds us to the earth and our history, suggesting that even in the deepest darkness, beauty and memory remain luminous points of reference.
