Description of the work

In The Silent Vortex, Giorgio De Camillis creates a layered, hypnotic vision. A spiral structure alters the perception of space and draws the eye toward a central point of stillness, like a tunnel composed of continuously twisting linear elements.

At the center emerges a small human figure, isolated and almost absorbed by the monumentality of the architecture. Its presence becomes an image of the individual condition: fragile, yet aware of its own path within a complex reality.

The layering of levels and textures dissolves the boundary between inside and outside. The vortex represents the flow of thought and the spiral of time, while the motionless figure maintains the tension between stillness and movement, control and surrender.
