Photographer: Giorgio De Camillis
Title: Beyond History
Type: fine art photography
Year: contemporary

Description of the work

In Beyond History, Giorgio De Camillis creates a dialogue between classical painting and contemporary photography. The composition reinterprets Delacroix's The Death of Sardanapalus, incorporating elements of the present into a scene of intense visual dynamism.

The juxtaposition of eras and artistic languages invites us to view art history through new eyes: to traverse the past does not mean forgetting it, but discovering its resonances in the present.
