Photographer: Lory Nox
Title: Canovella
Type: fine art photography
Year: contemporary

Description of the work

In Canovella, Lory Nox depicts the rocky shore and water-smoothed wood of an Adriatic coastline. Pebbles and logs bleached by the sun and sea compose a natural still life of great formal elegance. Black and white enhances the textures and tonal contrasts, transforming the coastal landscape into an almost abstract composition.

The work belongs to Lory Nox's photographic research in the Trieste area: the coast as a meeting place between the force of the sea and the patience of stone, between geological and human time.
